Right now, on the last night to be in Penang, we walked around nearby our lodging, we entered this ol'vibe resto.We ordered Beef oxtail soup and Grilled tiger prawn as we are not to able to eat anything too heavy.The oxtail soup for my hubby tasted warm and unique. The soup is milky and light,very comforting when you are tired and have this.Then came the grilled tiger prawn which to my surprise the prawns are huge. The grilled prawns are matched with salad dressing that is tangy, spicy and I see they use the acar cucumber instead of gherkin. It is really refreshing and awaken our appetite even when we are very tired. No regret to order the two dishes.Great job ! This place is quite popular with both tourists and locals alike. The dishes are hearty but the roast beef and lamb ribs could be better.The salads were refreshing although the use of pickles was a little unusual.The tiger prawn pasta was fresh but a little more spice would be nice.The ham sandwiches were a little tough to chew. Maybe don't grill the ham slices for too long.The fish and chips was quite good, especially the curry sauce. It brought a new taste yo fish and chips that I enjoyed.

They have migrated from their old outlet ( 205 Lebuh Pantai ) to this new outlet for FIVE years now, and due to the lockdown, they have endured some very challenging moments too.We thank God that they are still standing firm and unshakable after the pandemic. We have been their regular patrons since 2015/16Those days were smaller and more cozy, in contrast with the current outlet.The moment my vehicle turned into their outlet front carpark lot, immediately we saw a broad, welcoming smile from the supervisor awaiting us with their warmed smile. We felt their welcome even before we got out of our vehicle.Dining here at The Book Sandwich Cafe, a must; do not miss their oxtail soup. Not all western restaurants here in Penang are capable of serving distinguished-quality, tasty bowls of oxtail soup, and only a handful of them are capable of doing so.It was so tasty, and both of us loved the soup, The oxtail serving was delicious, and it was my favorite starter.Lobster Marinara and Pork Chop blend very well with our palette, together with a chill glass of house white wine.It was absolutely gorgeous, the taste of the Lobster Marinara very fresh, and the lobster meat wast just in touch, not over cooked orundercooked; otherwise the texture will be like eating rubber Food served with excellent generous portion too, especially pork chop.We highly encourage you to visit them, as their prices are fantastically affordable and reasonable. This is my second visit after almost 7 years. It’s still a great place to dine at.Service is definitely a 5 starQuality of food - happy to pay for itParking a little bit of a hassle but there are options of local council parking lots and private ones as well. Don’t want to stress- you can always grab there.I would surely return for more meals.

We had a family gathering to celebrate early Christmas. The place is so beautifully decorated. Loved it! The food, as usual, was wonderful and the service attentive.

Great food! Had the lobster rolls was delicious, the lobster spaghetti and the duck were also a highlight. Decent wine at a good price. Will come again while we are here on holiday

The lobster sandwich was exceptionally tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. While the prices are somewhat high, the food is truly delightful.
